Michigan State University / Wide Awake VR

Assistant Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University since 2010. I have been performing Awake Surgical Hand procedures in my office assisted by Virtual Reality worn by the patients since 2017. I have been Chief Medical Officer for Wide Awake VR since 2019, a company developed to create a medical grade device to facilitate an easily applied VR experience for patients undergoing surgical procedures and other uncomfortable medical experiences while awake. I am a Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon with a Fellowship from Louisville Kentucky in Hand Surgery 2008-2010. My basic Plastic Surgical training was through the British National Health between 1995 and 2008. I bring an international perspective to my work with a focus on risk reduction and cost-efficiency.
